Vibstr vs VivifyScrum
Short answer: VivifyScrum shuts down June 30, 2026. If you're a displaced VivifyScrum user looking for a Scrum-style tracker, Vibstr is a different shape (AI-first, three-state status, labels for everything) — but the migration importer is live and tested against real 51-item sprints, so your data lands intact even if the workflow shape changes.
This page exists so you can decide before you migrate, not after.
Where VivifyScrum got it right
- Scrum-first UX: a clean board, useful sprint mechanics, no enterprise overhead. A genuine alternative for teams that wanted Scrum without the heavier alternative's weight.
- Sensible defaults: most teams could ship on the out-of-box config without months of admin tuning. That's a real product virtue.
- Loyal community: small but dedicated user base — a sign of a product that actually served its audience.
Where Vibstr is different
- AI-first, not Scrum-first: built around plans deriving items, the per-item AI sidebar, and the
closes #NNcommit parser. If your team isn't running classical Scrum, Vibstr won't force a ceremony on you. - Three-state status (open / checking / done): workflow stages live in labels, not status enums. Less rigid than Scrum columns, more honest about how dev work actually flows. The Board view can pivot on labels, assignee, build, or priority — pick what you need.
- Active development and honest about it: we're early. Bundle ships every few days. The CHANGELOG is public. You're picking a tool in motion, not a finished surface.
When to pick which
If you want Scrum specifically, VivifyScrum had it right and Vibstr doesn't try to replicate the Scrum model. Migrate to Vibstr if you want an AI-first tracker and are OK with a different shape (statuses plus labels instead of full Scrum columns and ceremonies). Otherwise, there are other Scrum-style trackers worth evaluating.
